Spring decorated Easter Table

Every year for Easter, I think it’s going to be glorious out. Then March comes in like a lion and well, sometimes it remains a lion the whole month. Flower growth is slow this time of year, but the buds are on the trees and the birds are back and singing – promising me sunny, happy days to come. With Easter in April this year, I have high hopes for a bright holiday and have really started to get into decorating for spring this week. I was working on a project for a client and they needed a spring decorated Easter table as part of it so I thought I would show it to all of you too.

Organic elements for the decorated Easter table

I’m always inspired by natural elements when it comes to decorating and try to use them year-round whether they’re fresh or dried. However, after a long, snow-filled winter here natural decor is hard to come by in my backyard. It’s too early for flowers on the apple trees or the dogwoods and the tulips aren’t quite up yet either. So for my decorated Easter table I turned to using some grapevine (which I do have in my backyard), some small, fresh and delicate flowers I was able to find at Trader Joes and some dried flowers too.

Here’s a few of the elements in my centerpiece:

  • Fresh Eucalyptus leaves
  • Wax Flower
  • Baby’s Breath
  • Hypericum
  • Wood orbs
  • Wooden white flowers

After finding the flowers and knowing I wanted the grapevine to play a role, I knew the table wasn’t going to be one of those overly bright Easter tables (which I also love), but instead one that was calmer, with maybe a little more French Country charm and full of pastels.

I also made DIY Bird Nests out of my grapevine for the table. You can find the instructions for how to do that {HERE}.

Pastel and Champagne

Spring is the only time of year I really decorate with pastels. I tend to love deeper, richer colors (a fall girl through and through) but I love how pastels lighten up the gloom in the spring. For the colors in my decorated Easter table  I focused on using pastels more as neutral tones versus pastels you might find at a baby shower. Everyone loves neutral tones and I think that because this table is more neutral it could even be used as a simple spring table, or even a color scheme for a spring wedding. Greens, creams, touches of pinks and purples helped to complete the color story and made for a beautifully decorated Easter table.

I paired the light colors with Earthy wood elements in the natural decor and table charges and then added a little shine with champagne candle pillars and silverware. I love how the champagne color really compliments the neutrals and doesn’t feel overpowering.

For the table setting, I used wooden chargers to keep with the organic theme. You can find them {HERE}. I love them because the shape is so elegant but also simple enough to not be overly frilly. I also love that they come in a set of 4!

My plates where plates I bought on sale at William Sonoma a few years ago. Sadly, they no longer have them. However, I’ve included some alternative plates in the widget above that you can click on to get a better look. I actually have these ones {HERE} too and considered using those for this table setting.

My napkins are linen and I love this line from Amazon! I actually bought this ones for my spring Fairy Garden table {HERE} last year but they work perfectly on this table too. They’re stonewashed French flax and they lay lovely. I sometimes use them in the background for my food photograhy as well. You can find this color and many others {HERE}.
